Chair

Jonas Bjelfvenstam

Jonas Bjelfvenstam is Director General of the Swedish Transport Agency since 2017. Prior, he was Director General of the Swedish national road and transport research institute VTI. Before that, he served as State Secretary to the Minister of Industry, Employment and communications, as Director of the office for Metropolitan affairs and as Deputy CFO and Director at the Stockholm City management office.

In addition, he has had a number of special assignments for the Swedish Government: as Inquiry chair to the public commission on the organisation of the Swedish Maritime administration and on regulations and organisation of pilotage, as a chair to meetings of the High Level National Focal Points for the Integrated Maritime Policy in Rome and Stockholm, as inquiry chair to the public commission on Swedish shipping and maritime transports, as inquiry chair to the public commission on Swedish air navigations services and organisation of LFV group and as inquiry chair to the public commission on self-driving vehicles on the road.

He is a member of the board at the University of Linköping since 2017 and a member of the board of the Swedish Agency for Government Employers since 2018.

Jonas Bjelfvenstam graduated as a Master of Law (LLM) at Stockholm University.
