IRG-Rail Stakeholders meetings – Siemens Mobility meets IRG-Rail Chair, Lisbon, 17 April 2019

Siemens Mobility met this week in Lisbon with IRG-Rail Chair to debate sector challenges

On the 17th of April, in Lisbon, IRG-Rail President, Mr. João Carvalho and IRG-Rail Presidency Coordinator, Ms. Teresa Gonçalves, met with Siemens Mobility, represented by Mr. Manuel Nunes. As defended by Siemens Mobility “concepts that make transport more efficient are in demand with the ever-increasing need for mobility. With our long-standing transport expertise and our IT know-how, we are constantly developing new, intelligent mobility solutions that increase availability of infrastructure, optimize throughput and improve passenger experience. It’s in how we electrify, automate and digitalize infrastructure that we’re setting the benchmark for tomorrow’s mobility – today”.

IRG-Rail is committed to deal with genuine concerns that stakeholders may have. Given that, IRG-Rail has been promoting meetings since stakeholders’ inputs provide IRG-Rail with a broader perspective on issues that are central to its vision and mission and leverage this engagement towards effective and successful actions.

Learning from and with sector representatives, namely suppliers, rather than merely engaging with stakeholders, involves a deeper commitment than dialogue or reporting. It involves a commitment to embrace critical stakeholders as a strategic asset in shaping and informing the direction of the sector.

Mr. João Carvalho reiterated the commitment to working closely with stakeholders, this commitment is underpinned by listening carefully and responding appropriately to complaints raised by stakeholders and by continue to promote meetings with sector organizations, in order to facilitate knowledge exchange and focus on relevant issues across the industry.
